lessons.net — design explorations
Five visual directions for the lessons library described in docs/EXPLORATION.md. Each is a layout placeholder — same content concept, different front-door experience. Pick one to develop, or borrow elements across.
-
Design 1
Library
Reference-first. Dense sidebar navigation, multi-column body, Wikipedia-adjacent. Optimized for browsers who already know roughly what they want.
-
Design 2
Search
A bare homepage built around one big search box. Categories sit below the fold. Optimized for users arriving from Google with a specific query.
-
Design 3
Magazine
Editorial card grid with featured lessons and visual hierarchy. Optimized for casual browsing and discovery.
-
Design 4
Tools
Front door is a grid of interactive utilities — chord finder, tuner, conjugator. Lessons live one click deeper.
-
Design 5
Coach
Personality-led. Hero with an instructor, a curated “start here” path, warm palette. Optimized for first-time learners who want a guide.
